Dr. Smith is the current Chief Technology Officer at Numerex, a leading provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) business services, technology, and products used in the development and support of M2M solutions for the enterprise and government markets worldwide. He has served or serves on the boards of several prominent high tech companies. In February 2010, he was elected Chairman of TIA TR-50 Smart Device Communications Engineering Committee.
