Find out more about Christian Brim on our mentor page.

What was the most important thing a mentor ever did for you?

Talked me out of pursuing something.  I was young, eager and very naive.  Although I thought I had a great idea, and was willing to do whatever it took to make it happen, my mentor, said “You don’t want to do this.  Be patient, something else will come along.”  He was right, and he saved me a tremendous amount of time, money, and heartbreak.

What do you think an accelerator can do for Oklahoma?

I’ve seen what they’ve done in other cities, and I know they can do the same for Oklahoma.  Not just the boot camp, but also the synergy of having a place for like minded entrepreneurs to meet, share ideas, and recharge.

What do you think a mentor can do for a startup? How can a mentor help?

Knowing the unknown unknowns.  In other words, the things that you don’t even know you don’t know.  Having mentors with varied experiences and expertise give a startup an accelerated chance of success.

What kind of technologies and companies do you currently find interesting?

Data aggregation and analytics, although nano computers are pretty darn interesting as well.

What is the most important part of a company’s application when applying to an accelerator?

Well thought out plans.  It is not that the minutia or every possible outcome has to be covered, but that a 360 degree perspective exists.  Many times entrepreneurs become tunnel-visioned because they are so focused on the end result.
